If a woman is a black belt in karate could she break a mans back and put him in a wheelchair for life?

or is the power of martial arts just nonsense you see in films?

She could break his bank account and put him in the poorhouse for life.

Yes,She can even break mans life too..,to be honest, the power coming from your body and mind as result from hard training..not from films, books and martial arts...Karate is only a"tools"to help you..the result coming from you...I think...THANKS...

I don't do Karate but i'm pretty sure i could put someone in a wheel chair for life if i really wanted to.

She wouldnt need to be a black belt, but it would help.

.its very difficult to snap the spine. i have heard of it being achieved in a fight/assault by a female ,fighting for her life, she is a black belt in karate -jutsu,.

just watch out lol

women can just be tackful

its not the films but i can see what you mean

may be not a wheelchair or may be yes they could defo break arms

Why? Has a gang of girls threatened to beat you up? Lol

yes, it would be very easy.

But you are over looking the fact that when you're black belt, you also are incredibly self restrained...so he would certainly deserve it if she was to break his back.

The answer to both parts of your question is yes. The stuff you see in films is pretty much fiction. Martial arts don't endow you with magical powers which enable you to smite evildoers at will. They can give you the edge in certain situations, and they have all sorts of merits of their own.

But all it takes to break a man's back is to push him down and have him fall in the wrong way.

i never went through all the answers but im sure they gave you all the crap about if he did this or was that way!! .... bullshit!!! drive over the ******!!

The real question is how many backs can a black belt break if a black belt can?

i hope not im in a wheelchir so id stay away

If a women wants she can break a man's back period, some are actually quite good at it without even lifting a finger.

Oh and karate is the art of "self defense". One would assume and hope a black belt would show proper restraint.

I agree with D.W. about karate being for self-defense only.

However, there might be a time when you have to go that far. In a scenario where someone has pulled a knife, or they are choking you. By all means snap their arm.

oh yes they could nver under estimate us

black belts prove everything, i know i am one

A fall the wrong way can break a mans back. I agree with the answers above, and ask Why are you asking? The Martial Arts are for SELF-DEFENSE and no to be used to "break a mans back" Once you have established that a physical threat is over, you are legally and morally bound to not take it further. After Defense, there is only Offense-which would make the person no better than the attacker...

You don't need to be a martial artist to do that...

Of coarse but I think that if any woman were to be in a fit of rage they would be able to break any bone in your body.

Only if she had to.

I asked my son - who is training for his BB and he said yes - if the man was on his belly on the floor she could pull back his neck and break his back, theoretically.

Yea. Its all about technique. You should get out of your room and stop watching movies and TV. And im pretty sure you believe martial artist make those Bruce Lee noises all the time too right? Like whaaaaa. Well no. And by "power" if you are referring to that Chi/Ki manipulation nonsense, then yes THAT is nonsense.

First the martial arts for many teach that fighting is a last resort. Second many also teach that size and weight are to be used to ones advantage in a confrontation and so a smaller person can take on a larger, heavier one and win by using the larger persons weight against them.

So size and such are minimized in the martial arts.

Therefore the answer is yes. As for the movies there is a lot of fake stuff there so don't pay attention to all of it.
