Is there a certain direction that men should wear a belt? Buckle on the Left or on the Right?

Men's shirts button on the opposite side that women's do. Women's slacks close opposite men's. Is there a proper direction for Mens' or Women's belts?

I do believe that it has to do with what hand you use. If you are right handed then it goes on the left for your right hand to guide the other end into the buckle. If you are left handed it goes on the right.

I never noticed.... I really don't think it matters. I've always put my belt in through the left hand loops first.
